Staff: Alberto Gordillo

Alberto was inspired to work at Friends of the Children because he strongly believes in the 12+ year commitment that we make to youth and families. He has worked at many other organizations, and most only offer services for 30 to 90 days before the child and family move on. He says, "I believe that crises and challenges can occur at any point in life, and there shouldn't be a time limit on how long you can support a child or family."

Outside of work, Alberto strives to be the person he needed when he was growing up for every child he meets, not just those he professionally mentors. He wants to help break the stigma that often surrounds youth enrolled in services, or parents who seek help for their children. He strongly believes that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Alberto enjoys local trivia nights, spending time outside, and has a goal of one day doing stand-up comedy!
